Saving Energy at Home

Laundry, Dishwashing & Refrigeration

An energy saving recommended washing machine uses over 30% less energy than a typical old one.  You can also save energy by washing at lower temperatures (for example washing clothes at 40ºC instead of 60ºC uses a third less electricity) and by always washing a full load, or using a half-load or economy programme instead.

Your dishwasher does around 250 cycles per year.  An energy efficient one will use around 40% less energy than a typical old one, again using a full load or an economy programme will save energy.

The fridge-freezer is one of the hardest working appliances in your home and energy efficient fridge-freezers use over 60% less energy.
